My little helpers for the third Saturday in a row NASELESELE Village Clean-Up...
This time, another section of the beach just across the main road from the Naselesele Village bus stop...
And the kidZ were happy to show off the gloves given by Minister of Health (Health Inspector) Mr. Penioni Matadigo. We cleaned the shoreline, including around the trees and bushy areas near the beach...
After the clean up, we had another six bags (tagas) of broken bottles, rusty food tins, pieces of clothes, batteries, plastic stuff, roofing iron, footwear, miscellaneous junk (unsightly and sharp -- dangerous for all who walk the beach). Thanks to Mareta F, Makarita, Mareta T, Kani, Luisa, Dominique, Wani, Maria, Fane, Maresiale, Lui, Jeri, Kiri, Leone, Miriama, Kele, Jo, Sele and Sete.
And their promised reward of Tomi-tomi levu...Loli levu! -- an improvised pinata. i put together a not-so-traditional Mexican pinata -- a worn-out pillowcase, filled with two bags of candies from Bhula Bhai's shop.
Blind-folded, each kid was turned around seven times (to disorient them) and given a stick to hit the pinata just overhead. After all the KidZ got a few whacks at the pinata, with Ana literally pulling the strings, Makarita finally busted the package, spilling the candies for the bunch of screaming kidZ.
GOD bless this endeavor. GOD bless the children of Naselesele Village! GOD bless all children, for all children are a heritage from the LORD. (Psalm 127:3)
P.S. i am again raising funds for the Naselesele Village school children in Taveuni, Fiji. Your charitable donation of any amount is deeply and heartfully appreciated! GOD bless your loving heart!
